ZWECK
Die FONDATION USM unterstützt vorwiegend Personen und Organisationen in den Bereichen Kultur und Kunst, Architektur, Design, Musik, Sport, Bildung und Wissenschaft. Daneben kann sie auch andere wohltätige Organisationen sowie Unternehmen und Personen unterstützen, welche den gleichen Zweck verfolgen.
EINGABE
Die Unterstützungsgesuche sind ausschliesslich mit dem dafür vorgesehenen Formular (Antragsformular) in deutscher oder englischer Sprache in dreifacher Ausführung postalisch beim Sekretariat der FONDATION USM einzureichen.

ANFORDERUNGEN FÜR UNTERSTÜTZUNGSGESUCHE
Im Rahmen des Zweckes der Stiftung werden Projekte mit konkreten Inhalten unterstützt. Gesuche um Beiträge für Infrastruktur, Materialien, bauliche resp. technische Neuerungen oder dergleichen können von der FONDATION USM nicht unterstützt werden.
Die FONDATION USM unterstützt keine Projekte, für welche bereits bei einer anderen Institution ein Gesuch um Unterstützung eingereicht und abgelehnt worden ist. Die Gesuchsteller haben gegenüber der FONDATION USM verbindlich zu erklären, dass sie ihr Projekt oder ein verwandtes Projekt nicht bereits bei einer anderen Institution erfolglos eingereicht haben.
BEURTEILUNG DER UNTERSTÜTZUNGSGESUCHE
Die Unterstützungsgesuche an die FONDATION USM werden von Experten beurteilt, welche ihren Antrag zuhanden des Stiftungsrates formulieren. Der Stiftungsrat entscheidet abschliessend über die Unterstützung einzelner Projekte. Die Gesuchsteller werden spätestens bis 30.11. des entsprechenden Kalenderjahres über den Entscheid des Stiftungsrates informiert. Zu spät eingegangene oder unvollständige Gesuche werden von der FONDATION USM nicht berücksichtigt.
GESPROCHENE FINANZIELLE MITTEL
Die FONDATION USM kann Spenden einmalig oder über eine Periode von 1 – 2 Jahren sprechen. Bei zweijährigen Gesuchen wird jeweils die Hälfte des bewilligten Betrages zu Beginn des Projektes ausgerichtet. Die Unterstützungsbeiträge werden ausschliesslich an die Gesuchsteller unter der Bedingung der zweckgebundenen Verwendung ausgerichtet.
SCHLUSSBEMERKUNGEN
Die FONDATION USM legt Wert darauf, bei den aus den unterstützten Projekten resultierenden Katalogen, Print Dokumenten und sonstigen Publikationen und Materialien in geeigneter Weise Erwähnung zu finden. Nach Abschluss eines finanzierten Projektes sind die Gesuchsteller gehalten, einen kurzen Abschlussbericht über Verlauf und Ergebnis des durchgeführten Projektes zuhanden der Stiftung einzureichen. Diesen Bericht erwartet der Stiftungsrat innerhalb von sechs Monaten nach Abschluss des Projektes.
PURPOSE
The FONDATION USM chiefly supports individuals and organisations in the fields of culture and art, architecture, design, music, sport, education and science. In addition, it may support other charitable organisations as well as companies and individuals who pursue the same goals.
SUBMISSION
The requests for support must be submitted exclusively on the form provided for this purpose (application form) in German or English in triplicate by post at the Secretariat of the FONDATION USM.

The period for the submission of requests is from 01.01. – 31.05. of the relevant calendar year.
REQUIREMENTS FOR REQUESTS FOR SUPPORT
In line with the purpose of the Foundation, projects with specific content are supported. Requests for contributions towards infrastructure, materials, replacement buildings and technical equipment or similar are not able to be supported by the FONDATION USM.
The FONDATION USM does not support projects for which a request for support has already been submitted and rejected by another institution. Applicants must make a binding declaration to the FONDATION USM that they have not already submitted their project or a related project to another institution without success.
ASSESSMENT OF THE REQUESTS FOR SUPPORT
The requests for support to the FONDATION USM will be assessed by experts, who will formulate the application for the attention of the Foundation Council. The Foundation Council will make the final decisions on support for individual projects. Applicants will be notified no later than on 30.11. of the corresponding calendar year about the decision by the Foundation Council. Requests which are submitted too late or are incomplete will not be taken into consideration by the FONDATION USM.
PROMISED FUNDING
The FONDATION USM can promise grants on a one-off basis or over a period of 1 – 2 years. Half of the approved amount will be paid at the beginning of the project for two-year requests. The amount of support will be paid exclusively to the applicant on condition that it is used for the intended purpose.
FINAL COMMENTS
The FONDATION USM believes it is important that it is mentioned in an appropriate manner in the catalogues, print documents and other publications and materials resulting from the projects it supports. After completion of a funded project, applicants are obliged to submit a brief final report on the progress and result of the projects carried out for the attention of the Foundation. This report is expected to be received by the Foundation Council within six months after completion of the project.
